Continuing his close monitoring of the situation arising from the heavy rains, the Chief Minister today chaired another review meeting online from New Delhi to assess restoration works, relief measures and overall preparedness. The meeting was informed that power supply in Poonch is expected to be restored by tomorrow evening. The status of affected roads was also reviewed, with directions to ensure their earliest possible restoration.
The Chief Minister directed the administration to maintain focused attention on vulnerable habitations, strictly regulate traffic in landslide and shooting-stone-prone areas, and ensure adequate availability of food and other essential supplies, including advance distribution of rations wherever necessary.
Expressing his concern on the water logging witness today in Srinagar city, the Chief Minister directed that proactive measures be taken to address water-logging in Srinagar, with men and machinery pre-positioned at vulnerable locations to ensure swift dewatering and effective drainage.
