Govt, CJP delegation agree to meet today; govt source says; Modi assures of stricter action

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday (July 23, 2026), in his social media posts, addressed students’ concerns on NEET paper leaks. He said, “I am deeply aware that a paper leak is no ordinary lapse; it is an injustice that inflicts severe distress upon millions of aspiring students and their families. It is in response to this gravity that we have executed swift, uncompromising measures over the past two and a half months. The offenders have been arrested, and they now stand behind bars.

A delegation of the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) will meet with government Ministers on Friday (July 24), sources said. The meeting will take place at 12.30 pm, but its venue has not been disclosed. This comes after intense backroom negotiations to end the deadlock over the NEET paper leak, the sources said. Delhi High Court designates Judge Anu Grover Baliga as Special Judge of the fast-track court to deal with criminal cases arising out of paper leaks and the use of unfair means in public examinations.
Union Minister Jitendra Singh on Thursday (July 23, 2026) said that the Centre is ready for talks with the Cockroach Janta Party amid the latter’s protest in Delhi’s Jantar Mantar over paper leaks and the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. However, CJP has declined the invitation and said that the talks need to happen at Jantar Mantar or at another neutral venue.
The CJP reacted to the announcement and said that while fast-track courts will address what happens after the paper leak, why there are paper leaks is a larger issue that the government must address.
