At least 10 people were injured after a recently constructed bridge collapsed on the New Bypass near Darul Uloom Cheradri in Baramulla, North Kashmir. The collapse occurred hours after the completion of a major construction phase. The incident sent a concrete and steel framework crashing down, resulting in panic among the workers. All 10 injured individuals were rushed to the Baramulla District Hospital. One individual suffered a spinal injury and was subsequently referred to a hospital in Srinagar for specialized care. While some preliminary agency and social media claims labeled this a massive structural failure, official updates clarify that it was specifically a failure of the temporary formwork (shuttering) during the construction process. Authorities are conducting an assessment into the root cause of the incident.
