As directed by the Worthy Transport Commissioner, Shri Vishesh Mahajan, JKAS, and under the guidance of Shri Jasmeet Singh, JKAS, Tea_m RTO Jammu conducted a special enforcement drive to regulate and streamline public transport operations in view of SANJY–2026.
The enforcement team was headed by ARTO Er. Bipen Singh Charak and Er. Rajesh Gupta, comprising MVI Er. Kamal Kumar, Er. Jagandeep Singh and MVTA Ashish Kumar.
During the drive, special emphasis was laid on checking E-Rickshaws, E-Autos and Petrol Autos. The primary objective was to streamline the fare structure for SANJY–2026 and ensure compliance with transport regulations.
As part of the drive, fare charts were distributed among operators and they were instructed to operate only with valid and complete vehicle documents.
During the enforcement exercise, approximately 350 vehicles were checked. A total of 12 e-Challans were imposed for various violations and 11 vehicles were seized for different infractions. Among the seized vehicles, 03 out-of-district E-Autos were also impounded.
The drive was conducted successfully with an objective to promote safe, lawful and regulated public transport operations.
